Welcome to Hepworth Junior and Infant School

Hepworth J & I School aims to give pupils the best possible start in life. We want our pupils to be kind, caring and thoughtful above all else. They are taught to look after each other, look after their village and to think about what they can do to help the wider world and planet. In the past we have been an eco-school but are currently working towards being a hedgehog friendly school and a bumblebee friendly school. Working in harmony with nature is a big part of what we believe in.

Our school is a community where the partnerships between governors, staff, parents and pupils are valued.                                            These relationships are the key to our success.

We have a school dog called Selkie. She is a cockerpoo whose job is to bring a little happiness into our lives; she will usually greet you at the door and loves being stroked, especially if you bring a treat with you.

We have wonderful grounds which we use for outdoor education. We have a developed woodland, pond, trim trail, running track, raised beds, field, playground and MUGA. We do curriculum forest school and believe in getting pupils outdoors and active as much as possible. Our after-school clubs provide enjoyment and variety as well as much needed wrap around for parents.

We are well supported by the Pennine Sport’s Partnership who provide interschool sports competitions and lots of try it competitions in a wide variety of sports for our pupils to try and compete in.

We are a happy school.
